Liverpool’s estate agents are the busiest in Britain, according to new research by eXp UK.
The data shows that the average agent in the city is juggling 46 live property listings – almost double the national average of 26.
The study analysed market activity across 15 major UK cities, comparing the number of agents with the volume of properties currently for sale.
Of the 4,519 estate agents operating across these cities, a combined 116,309 homes are listed – equating to 26 properties per agent.
LIVERPOOL TOP OF THE LEAGUE
However, Liverpool’s agents are significantly outperforming this average, followed closely by Bradford (44 listings per agent) and Nottingham (38).
Leicester (31), Manchester (30), and Brighton (30) also reported high activity levels, particularly in an increasingly competitive market.
At the other end of the scale, agents in Glasgow are managing just nine listings on average – the lowest figure in the study—followed by Edinburgh (16) and Newcastle (20).
LISTINGS AND LEADS

Adam Day, Head of eXp UK & Europe, says: “Whether you’re a large corporate, an independent, or self-employed, listings and leads are the lifeblood of any estate agency business, ensuring that there is a robust pipeline of properties reaching the market and, ultimately, converting in order to earn a living.
“But maintaining this pipeline is arguably one of the hardest parts of being an estate agent, particularly when operating within a fiercely competitive pocket of the market.”
And he adds: “Such is the art of cultivating listings and leads that we’ve dedicated an entire portion of our UK conference to providing insight to our member agents, with no less than four of our ICON Agents taking to the stage to share their knowledge and expertise on what it takes to be the very best within their respective areas.
“So if you want to learn how to drive both listings and leads from some of the very best in the business, join us in Birmingham next month.”
