Knight Frank launches £140 million mixed-use redevelopment opportunity in Central London

Global property consultancy Knight Frank and M1 Agency have been jointly appointed to market Camberwell Quarter, a rare 3.9-acre site located in the heart of Camberwell, London SE5. The mixed-use site in Zone 2 is being marketed with an estimated GDV of £140 million, presenting a major redevelopment opportunity for investors.

Camberwell Quarter benefits from planning permission for a residential-led scheme comprising 375 residential units, 56,306 sq ft of flexible commercial space, as well as ancillary community facilities. The consented plans, designed by HTA Design, will deliver a new urban quarter set around a central public square and the retained former brick chimney as a landmark focal point.

In addition to the consented residential scheme, the site offers excellent potential for commercial development or investment. The existing buildings extend to 136,436 sq ft and provide a mixture of industrial, workshop, and office accommodation suitable for various occupiers, including trade counters, logistics, studios, and urban industrial.

Nick Alderman, Head of the Central London Residential Land team at Knight Frank, says: “Camberwell Quarter presents developers and investors with an exceptional opportunity to deliver a high-quality mixed-use scheme in a sought-after central London location. With the residential consent in place and the excellent transport connectivity, this site offers tremendous potential.

“Whether pursuing the residential plans or exploring commercial redevelopment, this substantial freehold site is primed to capitalise on the demand we’re seeing from both homebuyers and commercial occupiers in Zone 2 locations like this.”

Camberwell Quarter occupies a prime position opposite Burgess Park and has convenient access to the city centre, the West End, and Canary Wharf. The site provides excellent transport links with three nearby rail stations: South Bermondsey, Denmark Hill, and Peckham Rye.
