A landmark real estate sale has been successfully completed, setting a new record for luxury residential properties in Italy, with a price exceeding €160 million.
The transaction marks the highest value ever recorded in Sardinia – and in Italy – establishing a new benchmark in the luxury real estate market.
Italy Sotheby’s International Realty managed the transaction, providing support to all parties involved and formally representing an international buyer in the purchase of the property, which was once home to former Saudi oil minister Ahmed Zaki Yamani, a globally influential figure.
Located in the prestigious area of Romazzino, in the northeast of the island, this extraordinary and unique property spans 350 meters of seafront across a total area of 2.3 hectares.
HIGHEST REAL ESTATE VALUE

It holds the highest real estate value in Costa Smeralda and is the second most valuable property in Sardinia, following the renowned Villa Certosa.
Nestled in the breathtaking natural setting of Romazzino Bay (main picture), with its turquoise waters, crystal-clear sea and majestic granite rocks, the Mediterranean-style estate boasts 28 bedrooms, 35 bathrooms, and expansive terraces with unrivaled sea views.

The extensive outdoor spaces allow for full enjoyment of the idyllic landscape that defines the area, featuring private access to two beaches, two private piers, three swimming pools, lush flowering gardens and fully equipped outdoor spaces spanning approximately 23,000 square meters and ensuring complete privacy.

The historic transaction shines an international spotlight on an already highly exclusive and luxurious destination like Costa Smeralda.
The property also has an illustrious past: it was acquired in the 1970s by Henry Ford II, grandson of the founder of the iconic automotive brand with a design by architect Luigi Vietti, before being sold in 1974 to Ahmed Zaki Yamani.
