Government reduces energy costs for prepayment customers, easing the burden on household expenses

Uutility platform Muuvo sees the government’s announcementto alleviate household financial pressures by reducing energy costs for prepayment customers alongside the new energy price cap as a significant step forward and one that will greatly assist landlords, tenants, homeowners and agents in managing their property’s energy provision and costs.

With effect from 1st April 2024, prepayment customers will benefit from reduced rates, ensuring they pay less for their energy than direct debit customers.

The decision is part of the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by individuals and families grappling with the rising cost of living.

By reducing energy costs for prepayment customers, we aim to provide immediate relief and support to those who need it most, ensuring fair access to essential services.
