GetGround acquires BuyAssociation in distribution deal

GetGround, the digital platform for property investors, has acquired Manchester-based BuyAssociation in a deal that brings together two of the sector’s most active distribution and technology providers.

The acquisition forms part of GetGround’s strategy to deepen its position in the UK property investment market and broaden its access to both developers and investors.
BuyAssociation is one of the UK’s most established property investment distribution groups, facilitating off-plan sales for domestic and overseas buyers and maintaining a long-standing network of leading developers.

The company also runs a well-ranked property investment news service. GetGround, launched in 2020, provides investment software to 30,000 active UK property investors and wider services – including sourcing, funding and insurance – to a global community of around 200,000 landlords and investors.

CERTAINTY OF SALES

The combined business will operate across distribution, investor reach, content, and ownership infrastructure, creating one of the most wide-ranging platforms in the market.

The acquisition comes as developers increasingly seek distributors able to provide certainty of sales and access to qualified buyers, with investors accounting for 15–25% of units sold annually in major urban new-build schemes.

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY

Moubin Faizullah-Khan (main picture, inset), Chief Executive of GetGround, says: “We have worked with the BuyAssociation team for many years, supporting the same clients to source, fund and manage their investment properties.

“This deal is a natural extension of that partnership and sets us up well to hit our growth goals.

“Combining BuyAssociation’s reach with our technology platform helps us all to deliver market-leading stock, service and long-term outcomes for both developers and investors.

“We’re paving the way to create the UK industry’s most integrated, high capacity property investment platform and we can’t wait to see the results.”

GROWTH LED TRANSACTION

The transaction is described as growth-led, with no structural reductions planned. BuyAssociation will continue to operate under its existing brand, with senior leaders Sam Hadfield (Group Managing Director), Katie Walker (Group Commercial Director) and Henry Shaw (Sales Director) joining GetGround’s senior management team.

Founder and chief executive Caroline Marshall-Roberts will step back from daily operations after more than 20 years, remaining with the group as a senior adviser.

The financial terms have not been disclosed.

Both brands will continue to operate independently, with BuyAssociation maintaining its B2B distribution model and its property news outlet, which is ranked on Google News and read daily by investors and industry professionals.
