Fine & Country has launched a new office in Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, opening its doors in July 2025.
The new office marks a significant milestone in the brand’s expansion across the county.
In just the first three weeks of operation, Fine & Country Calder Valley has successfully brought three luxury listings to market, a testament to both local appetite for premium homes and the new licence’s immediate impact.
The Calderdale property market has performed strongly over the past year, with average house prices rising by 11% year-on-year, outpacing the regional average of 9.5%. Although the pace has softened slightly in line with national trends, demand remains robust for well-presented, characterful homes in desirable village and semi-rural settings.
GAP IN THE MARKET
Wendy Knight and Elizabeth Dinnis, Co-Directors of Fine & Country Calder Valley, shared their vision: “Calderdale is rich in high-end period homes, barn conversions, historic farmhouses and bespoke new builds, particularly in villages like Ripponden, Warley, Hebden Bridge, and Midgley.
“Despite the abundance of premium property, there’s a gap in the market for agents who truly specialise in the upper quartile. Fine & Country fills that gap with international exposure, editorial-style marketing, and a clear focus on luxury service.”
EXTRAORDINARY LIFESTYLE
Knight added: “From gated estates in Ripponden to artsy canal-side terraces in Hebden Bridge, this area offers an extraordinary lifestyle offering that aligns perfectly with the Fine & Country brand. It’s not just about selling bricks and mortar; it’s about marketing a way of life.”
The team currently consists of two directors and a dedicated sales progressor, with staffing levels expected to grow as the business scales.
Knight brings deep local expertise, while her business partner Elizabeth Dinnis has also previously owned and sold a successful franchise in the area.
SHARED DESIRE
Their decision to join Fine & Country was driven by a shared desire to offer clients a more refined and powerful service proposition.
Dinnis explains: “We were drawn to Fine & Country’s exceptional marketing toolkit, luxury brochures, high-end a, international exposure and the brand’s ability to emotionally connect buyers to properties.
“It gives us a competitive edge and the credibility to attract premium stock and high-net-worth clients. No other local agent can match the global reach or luxury presentation.”
JUST THE START

Jonathan Handford, Interim Managing Director of Fine & Country, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Fine & Country Calder Valley into our growing northern network.
“Wendy and Elizabeth bring a depth of local knowledge and a passion for excellence that perfectly complements our ethos.”
With over 80 properties currently listed at over £800,000 in the Calderdale district, the office enters a market ripe with opportunity.
Looking ahead, the duo see strong growth potential: “We’re only just getting started, but the reception so far has been outstanding.
“Homeowners are crying out for better marketing and more targeted exposure, especially at the top end. We’re here to deliver exactly that.”
