Fine & Country and property consultancy Knight Frank have been appointed as joint agents for the sale of Osea Island, a private island located in Essex with a guide price of £25 million.
The property will officially launch to the market tomorrow (25th April 2025) at an event held at Fine & Country’s head office on Park Lane, London, attended by the island’s owner, record producer Nigel Frieda.
Osea Island offers a rare opportunity to acquire an entire private island spanning approximately 380 acres.
Accessible via an ancient Roman causeway (tide permitting), by boat or by air, the island features 38 residential holiday properties, including a manor house, houses, cottages and apartments.
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS
It also boasts public buildings, event spaces and further planning and development options. Since 2004, under the ownership of music producer Nigel Frieda, Osea has earned an enviable reputation as a venue for A-list events, weddings, private hire and film production.

This is a truly unique opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind property; few can claim ownership of an island, and there is only one that is commutable to London.
UNPARALLELED OPPORTUNITY

Simon Pelling of Fine & Country Mid and South Essex, says: “Osea Island represents a truly unique proposition. Its versatility offers potential buyers a multitude of uses, from private residence to exclusive venue, premium retreat, wellness centre, glamping site, holiday lets, sporting estate or farming enterprise.
“The island’s proximity to London, combined with its secluded setting, makes it an unparalleled offering in today’s market.”
Ed Casson, also from Fine & Country Mid and South Essex, adds: “We are honoured to bring such a distinctive property to the market. Osea Island’s rich history, coupled with its modern amenities and development potential, provides an extraordinary opportunity for discerning buyers seeking exclusivity and a unique lifestyle.”
ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME

And Georgie Veale, Senior Negotiator at Knight Frank, says: “Osea Island presents an exceptionally rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a private island of remarkable scale and historical significance.
“Offering extensive land and multiple properties, it affords the purchaser unparalleled exclusivity, privacy, and a wide range of potential uses.”
