Experts Group expands into commercial property

The Experts Group has launched a new self-employed model for commercial property agents.

The move comes just weeks after group founder and Chief Executive, Sean Newman, appointed Jayne Kerfoot – formerly with Strike – to spearhead an ambitious growth plan.
The model gives the commercial agent 70% of the fee and the opportunity to work from wherever they want, whenever they want, to suit their lifestyle.

Working along similar lines to sister group members like The Property Experts, The Letting Experts and The Mortgage Experts, the new company will supply self-employed agents with training, marketing, technology, systems and processes.

BROKEN MARKET

Newman says: “The commercial property industry is broken and we’re here to fix it. The sector hasn’t changed in decades. Traditional High Street agencies are weighed down by expensive offices, layers of management and an outdated commission structure that short-changes their best agents. Property owners are left frustrated at not getting the service they deserve.

“We knew there had to be a better way and that’s why we’ve created The Commercial Property Agents – reimagining how a modern agency should work for experienced agents and their clients.”

LACK OF UNDERSTANDING

Newman believes the prospect of higher earnings will attract top talent in the industry and adds: “Our mission is to raise standards in the sector by providing a much-improved service to clients,” he said.

Steve Bell, managing director of The Commercial Property Experts, says: “We’ve spoken to countless experienced agents who feel trapped in the current system, watching their hard work fill someone else’s pockets.

“And many property owners tell us they’re tired of chasing unresponsive agents, seeing their properties marketed half-heartedly and dealing with inexperienced negotiators who barely understand the market.”

Newman and Bell hope to build a network of 100 experienced commercial property experts across the country. They’ll be joining more than 250 self-employed entrepreneurs already working for The Expert Group.
