Jamie Tulloch, from Fine & Country The Wirral & Formby and Fine & Country North Wales, is undertaking two monumental sporting challenges to raise funds for The Fine & Country Foundation – Ironman Wales in September and just six weeks later the New York Marathon in November.
Tulloch is no stranger to pushing his physical and mental limits.
A decade after completing his first Ironman triathlon in 2015, he’s gearing up to tackle the gruelling event once again.
With a previous time of just under 13 hours, Jamie has set himself the ambitious goal of breaking the 12-hour mark this time around.
NOT GOING TO BE EASY
Tulloch (main picture) says: “Basically, I like to challenge myself. The Ironman has to be up there with one of the hardest sporting events.
“I swore I’d never do it again, but here I am 10 years on ready to give it another go. It’s definitely not going to be easy, especially with the unpredictable Welsh weather and juggling training around a busy work schedule.”
And just six weeks after Ironman Wales, he’ll be lacing up his trainers for the New York Marathon, an event he’s dreamt of participating in for over a decade.
He adds: “I’ve been applying for the New York Marathon for 10 years, so it feels like fate that I got in this year, even if the timing isn’t ideal. I might even run it in fancy dress to boost donations. I’m open to suggestions!”
FIGHTING HOMELESSNESS
Tulloch is combining both endurance events into one fundraising mission for The Fine & Country Foundation, which supports projects and charities focused on fighting homelessness and poverty.
He says: “I’ve supported various charities over the years, but I’ve wanted to fundraise for The Foundation for a long time. Helping the homeless is a cause that’s really important to me, and I hope these events will inspire friends, family, clients and colleagues to get behind the campaign.”
