Coadjute has unveiled what it claims is the UK’s first “digital human” designed to support estate agents with anti-money laundering (AML) checks as pressure mounts on firms to strengthen compliance processes.
The new assistant, Clara, has been built to guide buyers and sellers through AML requirements, helping to explain checks, request documentation and support submissions in real time.
The launch comes against a backdrop of rising regulatory scrutiny, with an estimated £10bn laundered through UK property each year, placing increasing responsibility on agents to identify and prevent financial crime.
Coadjute says Clara forms part of a wider overhaul of its platform, aimed at reducing friction in compliance workflows while improving accuracy and auditability for agents and conveyancers.
DYNAMIC RESPONSE
Unlike traditional chatbots, Clara is embedded directly into the platform and responds dynamically as users progress through AML checks, requesting further information where needed and helping to ensure a complete submission.
The system remains overseen by human compliance professionals, with all checks reviewed and signed off, while Clara operates continuously to support users outside standard working hours – particularly international buyers.
Alongside the digital assistant, the upgraded platform introduces enhanced tools for monitoring AML risk, enabling agents and conveyancers to track progress, adjust evidence requirements and gain clearer visibility over compliance status.
The rollout will take place over the next six months for existing users, with access already available to selected new customers.
EASY AND INTUITIVE

Dan Salmons, CEO of Coadjute, says: “We wanted the next generation of Coadjute’s platform to use AI not to replace people, but to work seamlessly with them.
“Clara makes the process so easy and intuitive for buyers and sellers – especially those who aren’t ‘tech savyy’ – and the many new features of the platform all help estate agents and conveyancers achieve really high levels of AML compliance without the burden. It’s transformative.”
GAME-CHANGER

Phil Spencer, broadcaster and Coadjute Ambassador, adds: “Coadjute have come up with a real game-changer here.
“Estate agents are on the front-line of the battle against money laundering, and the new version of their platform is going to be a massive help.
Home buyers and sellers are really going to love Clara, she makes the whole process so easy, she’s really quite astonishing.”
