Chestertons has renewed its long-standing sponsorship of London Welsh Rugby Football Club for another two years, extending a partnership that has been running for 15 seasons.
Founded in 1885, London Welsh RFC is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year.
The club has more than 1,000 members and continues to play a central role in the sporting and social life of both Kew and Richmond.
Known worldwide, the club has a rich history of producing elite talent, counting former internationals Sonny Parker, Gavin Henson and the late J.P.R. Williams among its most famous names.
FUNDAMENTAL TO SUCCESS

Jonathan Shankland, Director and Board Member of London Welsh RFC, welcomed the announcement: “As we are commencing the new rugby season and are celebrating our 140th anniversary this year, the news of Chestertons’ continued sponsorship couldn’t have come at a better time.
“As one of our key sponsors, Chestertons’ involvement has been fundamental to our success and growth which attracts and produces new talent for the sport.
“Chestertons’, as well as the commitment from some of our other sponsors, further enables us to train the youth and senior sections and provide them with quality equipment, doctors as well as professional trainers.”
COMMUNITY MINDED

Chestertons has built a reputation as one of London’s most community-minded estate agencies, regularly supporting local initiatives, charities and cultural events across the capital.
Its sponsorship of London Welsh is one of its longest-standing commitments and underlines the agency’s emphasis on giving back to the communities where it operates.
Gary Howorth, director at Chestertons, says “Rugby is a sport of teamwork, integrity and passion which are qualities that perfectly align with our company values.

“Our sponsorship is a way of giving back and supporting a cause that has had an extremely positive impact on the local community in which Chestertons has a strong presence via our highly-regarded branches in Kew and Richmond.”
The renewed sponsorship comes at a pivotal time for the club, which is not only marking its milestone anniversary but also investing in the next generation of players.
With youth development a central focus, the continued backing of sponsors like Chestertons is seen as vital in ensuring London Welsh maintains its position as one of the UK’s most respected amateur rugby clubs with a global following.
