Grand Designs: House of the Year is set to return to Channel 4 this autumn, promising another spectacular celebration of the UK’s most innovative and architecturally daring homes.
The four-part series, produced by Naked West (a Fremantle label), once again partners with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to showcase the finalists of the prestigious RIBA House of the Year award.
This annual accolade honours the best new one-off house or extension designed by an architect in the UK.
Presented by Kevin McCloud (main picture), alongside architects Damion Burrows and Natasha Huq, the series offers rare access to the shortlist of remarkable homes vying for the top prize. Viewers will journey through the shortlisted properties across the country, culminating in the reveal of the 2025 winner in the final episode.
GEMS OF IMAGINATION
Kevin McCloud says: “This series celebrates, as ever, a sparkling range of what’s possible in domestic architecture today. So, it’s a great privilege to be able to help uncover these gems of creative imagination and of course it’s a complete joy to be back presenting House of the Year alongside Natasha and Damion.”
And Damion Burrows adds: “I am thrilled to be back on the road with House of the Year. This series never fails to amaze me, from jaw-dropping designs to the personal stories behind the builds.
“It is always inspiring to meet the architects and homeowners who have worked so closely together, pouring their heart and soul into creating some truly original and groundbreaking homes.”
DEEPLY INSPIRING
Natasha Huq says: “It is such a privilege to return for another series of House of the Year. These aren’t just impressive homes, they challenge how we think about space, materials and the care of our resources.
“There is something deeply inspiring about the way architecture can quietly transform how we think about the world and our place within it, and I am excited to share that with viewers again this year.”
Executive Producer John Comerford, Head of Naked West, adds: “We are really delighted to be working with the RIBA once again to bring Grand Designs: House of the Year back to viewers. This series continues to offer an unparalleled look at the very best of contemporary British domestic architecture.”
TRANSFORMATIONAL IMPACT

Muyiwa Oki, President of RIBA, says: “We are excited to once again be partnering with Grand Designs to present House of the Year. It will be a privilege to see these exceptional homes, designed by our members and rigorously judged by RIBA awards juries, return to our screens.
“High-quality residential architecture can have a transformational impact on its users, communities and the environment, and I look forward to seeing Kevin, Damion and Natasha explore this throughout the series.”
The series was commissioned for Channel 4 by Ian Dunkley. John Comerford serves as Executive Producer, with Ned Williams as Series Producer, both for Naked West.
Exact air dates will be announced in due course.
