Luxury developer Caudwell has unveiled a new show apartment at Le Provençal on the French Riviera, with interiors inspired by jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald, the Jazz-à-Juan Festival, and the “Riviera Golden Years” of the 1960s.
The development, transformed from the former Hôtel Provençal into a £300 million-plus residential address, evokes the glamour of the era when Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Hollywood stars were regular visitors.
The three-bedroom show apartment occupies the fourth floor and provides 2,172 sq.ft. of lateral living space, with 562 sq.ft. of private terraces including a covered loggia.
Located at the gateway to Cap d’Antibes, the building overlooks the Mediterranean and retains its historic pedigree, originally constructed in 1926-27 by architect Lucien Stable for American millionaire Frank Jay Gould.
LIFESTYLE SERVICES
Le Provençal offers 35 residences, including apartments, penthouses, and villas, all with contemporary interiors and luxury specifications.

Residents benefit from concierge and lifestyle services provided by the adjacent five-star Hôtel Belles Rives, including access to a Michelin-starred restaurant, spa, cocktail bar, and private beach club.
Public areas and apartment interiors were designed in collaboration with Parisian studio Affine Design, featuring Art Deco-style finishes, cinema, health spa, retail boutiques, landscaped gardens, and a 30-metre swimming pool.
RIVIERA GOLDEN YEARS

John Caudwell, founder of Caudwell, says: “The reopening of the refurbished and transformed Le Provençal marks a new chapter in Antibes history and the rebirth of the ‘Riviera Golden Years’.
“The newly unveiled show apartment is a striking mixture of vibrancy and understated elegance, paying homage to the ‘Golden Years’, the renowned Jazz Festival and the illustrious musical career and huge cultural impact of Ella Fitzgerald who was a frequent visitor to Le Provençal when it operated as a hotel.”
PERFECT DETAIL
The apartment’s interiors feature a Mediterranean-inspired palette of warm golds, purples, and cream tones, combining contemporary furnishings with references to the Riviera’s jazz heritage.

The open-plan kitchen is finished in bronze-toned cabinetry with marble countertops, integrated Miele appliances, and direct terrace access. Principal and guest suites include walk-in dressing rooms and marble bathrooms.
Lars Christiaanse, Caudwell’s group director of sales, adds: “The new Ella Fitzgerald-inspired show apartment is part of a collection of fully furnished residences. Our team ensures every detail is perfected so buyers can embrace the Riviera lifestyle from day one.”
Residences at Le Provençal range from €4.5 million to €8 million, with marquee homes available from €15 million. The Ella Fitzgerald show apartment is priced at €7.75 million ($9.7 million).
