Avocado marks five years with £10 million in commissions and £800 million in sales

Self-employed brokerage Avocado Property Agents has celebrated its fifth anniversary announcing a landmark achievement of £10 million in banked commission and more than £800 million in property sales since its 2020 launch.

The milestone underlines the rapid growth of its network of autonomous agents and the appeal of its values-led model in a competitive market.
Founded on a mission “to do estate agency differently”, Avocado enables self-employed agents to run their own businesses while benefiting from centralised marketing and operational support.

And according to Co-founder Mike Robson (main picture), the commission figure reflects more than financial success.

EMPOWERING AGENTS

He says: “This isn’t just a financial figure – it’s a validation of the approach we’ve taken. We’ve built something that empowers agents to thrive on their own terms, while delivering real results for clients.

“At the heart of Avocado’s model is a simple belief: when you invest in great people, great results follow.

“Rather than focusing on volume-based KPIs and rigid corporate structures, Avocado supports its self-employed agents to run their own businesses with full marketing and operational support.”

Co-founder Ian Macbeth adds that the model has reinvigorated seasoned high-street agents by offering flexibility and renewed professional purpose.

“Our agents aren’t tied to scripts or targets. They’re focused on helping people move well – and they’re doing so with energy, credibility and the freedom to work their own way.”

Avocado’s in-house team manages campaign strategy, design and execution, freeing agents to concentrate on client relationships and service delivery.

The brokerage says this division of labour has accelerated sales cycles, enhanced the customer experience and helped agents build stronger personal brands.

With its network firmly established, Avocado is now recruiting selectively, targeting experienced agents who seek greater autonomy and earnings potential within a supportive brand framework.

ONE DIRECTION

Robson adds: “We’re not aiming to be the biggest agency in the UK, but we do want to create the best place to be an estate agent – one where hard work is rewarded, creativity is encouraged, and agents are in control of their own direction.”

The company’s success underlines a broader shift in estate agency, as professionals increasingly favour flexible, entrepreneurial models over traditional corporate structures.

With its five-year record now firmly in place, Avocado looks set to continue its steady expansion into the latter half of the decade.
