The Association for Rental Living (ARL) has announced the appointment of Darren Waitson (main picture), Founder and Chief Executive of Nirvana Group, to its Board.
His appointment marks a significant step in ensuring the voices of suppliers are fully represented within the governance of the growing institutionally backed, professionally managed rental living sector.
Waitson joins the ARL Board with a remit to champion the supply chain perspective, bringing over 15 years’ experience in the sector.
Since founding Nirvana in 2009, he has built a strong reputation across the industry, playing a long-standing role in the ARL Suppliers Committee and the London and South East Hub. He has also regularly contributed insights at ARL events, including the flagship ARL Expo.
BOARD RESTRUCTURE
Waitson says: “I’m honoured to join the Board at such a pivotal time. I look forward to uniting the supply network and contributing to the ARL’s strategic vision as we collectively strengthen and support this vibrant sector.”
The ARL Board, restructured in November 2024, is chaired by Helen Kings and includes sector leaders Harry Swales, Stephanie Smith, Martin Bellinger, Karen Cooksley and Cyrille West. Recognising the importance of supplier representation, the ARL undertook a dedicated recruitment process earlier this year to fill the vacant Board seat, culminating in Waitson’s appointment.
SENIOR VOICE
ARL Chair Helen Kings says: “For the ARL Board to truly reflect the full ecosystem of the rental living sector, it was vital we welcomed a senior voice from the supplier community. Darren brings both deep experience and a fresh perspective that will be invaluable as we continue to evolve.”
STRENGTH IN DIVERSITY
ARL CEO Brendan Geraghty adds: “Our Board’s strength lies in its diversity. Darren’s appointment further reinforces our mission to shape a dynamic, innovative and inclusive rental living sector — one that delivers quality, fosters community and sets the standard.”
