Annual Carols by Candlelight Concert to light up Cambridge this December

The Fine & Country Foundation has announced this year’s Carols by Candlelight Concert will be held on Sunday, 8th December 2024, in partnership with King’s College Cambridge.

As one of the Foundation’s most anticipated holiday events, this festive evening promises to inspire the spirit of giving, set against the enchanting backdrop of the historic King’s College Chapel.
This year’s concert is especially meaningful as The Foundation celebrates an incredible milestone of raising £1 million since its inception in 2014, supporting charities dedicated to combating homelessness and poverty.

The Foundation’s annual Carols by Candlelight has been a cornerstone of this success, with last year’s concert alone raising a record-breaking £21,000.

Originally under the direction of John Butt, it is now directed by the College’s Interim Assistant Director of Music, Ralph Woodward.

Their angelic renditions of beloved Christmas carols will fill the chapel with holiday warmth, inviting all in attendance to celebrate in the spirit of community and compassion.

Funds raised from this year’s concert will be directed to Emmaus Cambridge; Jimmy’s Cambridge; Wintercomfort, and Cambridge Cyrenians – four charities that provide essential services and support to those experiencing homelessness in the Cambridgeshire region.

By purchasing a ticket, attendees contribute directly to the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to create meaningful change for vulnerable individuals in our society.
