The estate agency sector has raised more than £35,000 for breast cancer charities, as agents, suppliers and industry partners across the UK came together to support a cause that began as a deeply personal campaign.
The fundraising effort was led by Richard Combellack, chief commercial officer at Nurtur, and his wife Rebecca (main picture), who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and is currently undergoing treatment.
What started as a personal mission quickly gathered momentum, with the industry rallying behind the couple through a series of high-profile events and individual challenges.
To date, more than £37,000 has been raised for CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now. Over £25,000 was collected in a single day at The Negotiator Awards, while a further £14,000 was raised at EA Masters through Richard’s “Brave the Shave” challenge, alongside donations from barbers, with funds split between Agents Giving and CoppaFeel!. Rebecca also completed a personal challenge, walking 100 miles to raise £2,000 for Breast Cancer Now.
SUPPORTING CHARITIES
The funds raised will directly support breast cancer education, early awareness initiatives and vital support services delivered by both charities, helping to improve early diagnosis and access to life-saving information.
And Richard Combellack says the response from the sector had exceeded all expectations. “I can’t believe the level of support. The community focus within the estate agency industry is incredible.”
And he adds: “It’s probably because agents work so closely within their local communities every day, with vendors and buyers, but even so, the generosity has blown my mind. It shows just how charitable this industry really is.”
TANGIBLE IMPACT
CoppaFeel! said the scale of the fundraising would have a tangible impact on its work educating young people about breast cancer awareness and early detection.

Albany Holbrook of CoppaFeel! says the charity has been “absolutely blown away” by the response, noting that the funds could support school talks reaching thousands, free monthly text reminders for more than 145,000 people, and expanded education campaigns.
Breast Cancer Now also highlighted the importance of the fundraising effort.
EVERY POUND HELPS
Anna Hadjivassiliou, Senior Community Fundraiser at the charity, says: “Every pound raised helps Breast Cancer Now fund lifesaving research and provide life-changing support to people affected by breast cancer.
“A woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every nine minutes in the UK and a man every day.
“These efforts not only fund vital work, but also raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and ongoing support.”
The campaign stands as a powerful example of how the estate agency community can mobilise quickly and collectively, turning personal adversity into meaningful, industry-wide action.
NEXT: CHARITY HOCKEY GAME
The fundraising effort continues with a major charity ice hockey event, bringing the industry and wider community together once again to raise further funds and awareness.
