The Computershare Loan Services and The Deposit Protection (The DPS) Charity Fund has donated £40,000 to help support homeless young people in the UK.
This is the fifth annual donation in a row to national homeless charity Depaul UK, bringing the total value of donations since 2020 to £200,000.
The charity said the donations help it to deliver crisis intervention, safe housing and mental health support to young people.
The charity added that the money would enable it to help clients with financial education and money management.
SAFE PLACE TO STAY

Sam Dunne, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Depaul UK, says: “We are seeing increasingly high numbers of young people without a safe place to stay or a family network to fall back on seeking help from our services.
“This support from Computershare means we can respond to emergencies and help young people build stable, independent lives.
“We want homelessness to be something our clients pass through rather than something that defines them or their future.”
SUPPORTING THE VULNERABLE

Andrew Jones, Chief Executive Officer at Computershare Loan Services, adds: “We are very proud to continue our support for Depaul UK at a time of high youth homelessness.
“Our support of the charity is very popular with our employees who are highly supportive of the important work it undertakes.”
And Matt Trevett, Managing Director at The DPS, also part of the Computershare Group, says: “Depaul’s support for some of the most vulnerable in society at a key turning point in their lives is inspiring, and I’m very pleased we can again provide them with a donation.”
NUMBERS UP
Depaul UK says that rough sleeping in the UK increased by 20% during the past year and that a young person becomes homeless around every four minutes nationally.
The pandemic, cost-of-living and rental home shortages mean many young people are finding it difficult to rent, it added.
The charity adds that it tailored its holistic services to meet the needs of young people at every stage.
The Computershare Loan Services and The DPS Charity Fund supports organisations using education to combat financial hardship.
The fund also supports organisations helping people in financial difficulty.
